The Best Egg Hunts Around

Easter is just around the corner, but you may be feeling like you are not quite up to the mess and hassle of dyeing dozens upon dozens of eggs to entertain your young ones. Fortunately, there is a way they can get all of the fun with a lot less work by heading to one of the great local events. Here are a few that are sure to offer a great time to your whole family.

  • April 3rd, Annual Easter Egg Hunts at Barnes Nature Center: On Good Friday, head to the Barnes Nature Center in Bristol, Connecticut, between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. This BYOB (bring your own basket) hunt will take place in an open field, and there will be additional fun activities for the kids. Children under 1 are free, while over 1 are $5. While there, you can also sign up for the Rent-a-Baby-Chick program, which allows your family to care for a baby chick for $10. This will help your children learn responsibility in a very controlled (and adorable!) way.
  • April 4th, Farmington Miniature Golf & Ice Cream Parlor Easter Egg Hunt: Between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., children ages 9 and under will have the chance to hunt for 15,000+ eggs at the Farmington Miniature Golf & Ice Cream Parlor. The cost to hunt is just $1, and it goes to benefit Our Companions Domestic Animal Sanctuary. There will also be a bounce house, pictures with the Easter Bunny, and face painting.
