The perfect apple pie recipe to add to your already perfect holiday table!

Now that the holiday season is in full swing, it brings with it lots of delicious bites. While some people will get crazy with their holiday baking, you know you can’t go wrong with a classic. This apple pie recipe is the perfect dessert to add to your holiday meals and is sure to impress your friends and family! To create a beautiful pie, you’ll need:

  • 2 pre-made 9-inch pie crusts
  • ½ cup of unsalted butter
  • 3 tablespoons of flour
  • ½ cup of packed brown sugar
  • ½ cup of granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup of water
  • 8 peeled, cored, and diced Granny Smith apples

Preheat your oven to 425 degrees F.

In a saucepan, melt the butter. Once melted, add in the flour and stir together until a paste forms. Add in the sugars and water and bring the mixture to a boil. Turn down the heat and let the mixture simmer.

While it simmers, lay the bottom crust across your pie pan. Pour the chopped apples into the crust, mounding in the middle. Lay your top crust over the apples in a lattice work patter.

Pour your liquid from the stove slowly over the crust. Be careful – you want it all to end up in the pie pan, not on the counter! Bake this piece for 15 minutes, then reduce the heat to 350 degrees F. Keep cooking until the apples are soft (35-45 minutes). Voilà! The perfect apple pie recipe!
