Got Dance?

The University of Connecticut hosts HuskyThon, a year-long fundraiser for the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. It is celebrated at the end with an 18-hour dance marathon! So if you want to get groovy, or get jiggy with it, be sure to sign up!

Connecticut Children’s Medical Center has become the largest student-run philanthropy event in the state. Even though they have achieved this incredible milestone, they state that their work is far from over. Their efforts are always changing as they improve, but their core purpose remains the same: “Together with Connecticut Children’s, we believe in giving children the care they deserve . . . as long as kids need hospitals, we’ll be around supporting them.”

CCMC is a nationally recognized non-profit children’s hospital and serves as the primary teaching hospital for the University of Connecticut’s School of Medicine. At these hospitals, 62 children are treated by the best doctors every minute. Connecticut Children’s never turns families away no matter their illness; from cancer to traumatic injury to genetic disease.

What You Can Do:
DANCE! Dance marathons are growing nationwide, and have raised over $62 million! The children of Connecticut and Connecticut Children’s rely on your support, and, in 2014, UConn students stepped up their game and made HuskyThon the 2nd largest event to support their efforts.

Their Mission: Increase funds and awareness for Connecticut Children’s Medical Center.
Their Vision: Together they save kids’ lives.
