Stay safe so you can enjoy the upcoming Labor Day weekend with these tips!
Can you believe Labor Day is already just around the corner? As the kids get ready to go back to school and you get ready to pack away your summer clothes, we get one last long weekend to savor the warm season. We want to help you make the most of Labor Day weekend, so here are a few safety tips that will protect your fun!
- On The Road: There will be more traffic on the road due to the holiday weekend, so make sure that you leave with plenty of travel time. Once on the road, wear your seatbelt, obey traffic laws (this includes not drinking and driving!), and leave some extra following space between yourself and the other vehicles on the road to avoid an accident.
- By The Pool: Make sure that children—even those who are good swimmers—are always supervised when they are in the water. If your kids are not strong swimmers, fit them with lifejackets so they can enjoy the water safely. Keep a first aid kit and reach poles by the pool so you can react to an emergency quickly.
- Over The Grill: Make sure that you never use your grill within 10 feet of your home or near trees, shrubs, or other flammable materials. Keep a spray bottle nearby to deal with small flare-ups without ruining the food and a fire extinguisher for more serious blazes.
